NOW is the perfect time to ask for what you need.

By tuning in to our bodies, our minds, & our breathing, we naturally become more aware of our physical & spiritual needs.

When we connect movement (Asana) with breath regulation/control (Pranayama) & meditation (Dhyana), we go deeper into ourselves, exploring those needs more closely.

We can then practice relaxing and letting go of anything that no longer serves us. We may notice our nervous system calming down, our minds quieting, to a place where we might practice releasing stress & physical ailments.

A powerful, healing practice indeed!

INSPIRATION: Mindful Movement & Meditation for Teens, Tweens, & Kids

As a result of the Pandemic of 2020, we experienced challenges in ways that are unimaginable. “Pivoting” was what we adapted to, as we were pulled up by our roots, away from the “norm”. Constantly shifting our lives in the name of safety.

Unfortunately, many of us shifted from a space of isolation and rest, towards ramped-up schedules and “busy-ness”, without truly understanding what was going to happen next. Phew! What a roller coaster ride.

Children especially were affected, where many are still experiencing anxiety from pressure, stemming from: academics, social media, athletics/extracurriculars, and more.

It was during that time when I asked myself, “How can we better support our kids during this pivotal time?” The answer jumped out at me: By teaching them YOGA- ancient practice & skills to help bring balance, grounding, & rest into their lives.

It’s been my experience, that when kids practice yoga, they are better able to process thoughts & feelings with curiosity; learning to let go of attachment & judgement, so they can take action from a calm, rational, and more grounded place.

Practicing Mindfulness, or BEING PRESENT, helps to:

  • Unwind

  • Reduce Stress

  • Focus, Improve Concentration

  • Relax

  • Improve Sleep

  • Find Connection (with “self”, family, community)

  • Visualize Positive Outcomes for ourselves

My Mindfulness Series was created during the Pandemic, from a place of “need”, and is specifically geared towards adolescents, but ANYONE can benefit, accessing these ancient, transformative, & invaluable tools & techniques, ANY TIME! I’m here, if you’d like to discuss how these techniques might support your child/ren, yourself, AND your family.
